The Markha Valley Trek is one of Ladakh's most popular high-altitude treks, known for its stunning landscapes, remote villages, and cultural richness. The route winds through the Hemis National Park, crossing rivers, canyons, and the high Kongmaru La pass (5,260 m), offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. Trekkers pass through traditional Ladakhi villages like Markha and Hankar, with options for homestays. Best done between June and September, it’s a moderately challenging trek ideal for acclimatized adventurers seeking both nature and heritage.
