Itineraries

Day 1

Drive Leh β†’ Lamayuru (3,510 m)

  • Drive distance: ~125 km | 4–5 hours

  • Drive west along the Srinagar–Leh Highway.

  • Visit Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest and most scenic in Ladakh.

  • Short acclimatization walk in the village.
    πŸ›οΈ Overnight in a guesthouse or camp.

Day 2

Lamayuru β†’ Wanla (3,250 m)

  • Trek Time: 3–4 hrs

  • Pass: Prinkiti La (3,720 m)

  • Gradual climb to the pass, then descend through a rocky gorge to the green village of Wanla.

  • Visit the small Gompa above the village.

Day 3

Wanla β†’ Hinju (3,720 m)

  • Trek Time: 5–6 hrs

  • Walk along the Yapola River, passing Phenjila village.

  • Gradual ascent through fields and willow trees to Hinju, a traditional Ladakhi village.
    πŸ•οΈ Camp near the village.

Day 4

Hinju β†’ Sumda Doksa (4,430 m)

  • Trek Time: 5–6 hrs

  • Pass: Kongskil La Base

  • Steady climb through high pastures.

  • Camp at the base of Kongskil La, surrounded by rugged peaks and herder huts.

Day 5

Cross Kongskil La (4,950 m) β†’ Sumda Chenmo (3,900 m)

  • Trek Time: 6–7 hrs

  • Steep climb to the Kongskil La Pass – the highest point of the trek with spectacular views of Zanskar and Ladakh ranges.

  • Long descent into the lush valley of Sumda Chenmo, a peaceful village.
    πŸ•οΈ Camp near the stream.

Day 6

Sumda Chenmo β†’ Chilling (3,200 m)

  • Trek Time: 5–6 hrs

  • Final descent through a narrow gorge.

  • Trail meets the Zanskar River near Chilling, a village known for traditional metalwork (copper & silver artisans).

  • From here, drive back to Leh (~2 hrs).

  • Good experienced route guide
  • Homestay/Camping with all 3 Meals
  • Pick and drop by jeep to the starting and finishing point of the trek
