Itineraries

Day 1

Leh – Rumtse – Kyamar (4,100 m)

  • Drive: Leh to Rumtse (2 hrs)

  • Trek: Rumtse to Kyamar (4–5 hrs)

  • Highlights: Gentle walk through meadows and wildflowers

  • Overnight: Camp at Kyamar

Day 2

Kyamar – Tisaling (4,800 m) via Kyamar La (4,950 m) & Mandalchan La (4,970 m)

  • Trek: 6–7 hrs, with two pass crossings

  • Highlights: Expansive views, yak herder trails, and wildlife sightings

  • Overnight: Camp at Tisaling

Day 3

Tisaling – Ponganagu (4,700 m) via Shibuk La (5,100 m)

  • Trek: 6 hrs, gradual descent after pass

  • Highlights: First views of Tso Kar lake, wild donkeys (kiangs)

  • Overnight: Camp near Ponganagu or Tso Kar shore


 

Day 4

Ponganagu – Nuruchan (4,630 m)

  • Trek: 5 hrs, easy walk along Tso Kar

  • Highlights: Salt lake views, nomad camps, birdlife

  • Overnight: Camp at Nuruchan village

Day 5

Nuruchan – Rachungkaru (4,900 m) via Horlam La (4,900 m)

  • Trek: 5 hrs with one pass crossing

  • Highlights: Traditional Changpa nomad settlements

  • Overnight: Camp at Rachungkaru

Day 6

Rachungkaru – Gyamar (5,000 m) via Kyamayuri La (5,410 m) & Gyama Barma La (5,320 m)

  • Trek: 6–7 hrs, challenging day with two high passes

  • Highlights: Stunning alpine views, high meadows

  • Overnight: Camp at Gyamar

Day 7

Gyamar – Korzok (Tsomoriri Lake, 4,590 m) via Yalung Nyau La (5,440 m)

  • Trek: 6–7 hrs; final ascent and long descent

  • Highlights: First panoramic view of Tso Moriri lake, arrival in Korzok village

  • Overnight: Homestay or camp near the lake

Day 8

Korzok – Leh

  • Drive: 7–8 hrs along breathtaking Changthang landscape

  • Highlights: Return through Puga hot springs, Mahe Bridge, and Indus Valley

  • Good experienced route guide
  • Homestay with all 3 Meals
  • Pick and drop by jeep to the starting and finishing point of the trek
